Ugonna Okafor joined Gimbs & Gebs Consulting in September 2024, bringing experience in internal audit, fiscal management, and corporate governance across diverse corporate and manufacturing environments. He contributes to the firm’s advisory and assurance services by supporting clients in strengthening internal control systems, improving financial oversight, and enhancing operational accountability.

Ugonna began his professional training with Ugochukwu Nwankwo & Co. (Chartered Accountants), where he developed a solid foundation in audit practice and financial reporting. He subsequently held senior internal audit roles in reputable organisations, including John Holt Plc, where he served as Senior Manager – Internal Audit, and DEAP Capital & Trust Management Plc as Deputy Manager Internal Audit, overseeing risk assessment processes and compliance monitoring frameworks.

He began his career at Mouka Limited as an Internal Auditor and, within just one year, advanced to become the Kaduna Plant Accountant. This rapid promotion highlights his exceptional analytical skills and deep expertise in operational finance in a large manufacturing environment.

Ugonna holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree and an MBA, combining technical, managerial, and financial perspectives in his professional approach. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

His expertise spans internal audit, risk management, financial controls, operational accounting, and performance monitoring, supporting in strengthening governance structures and achieving sustainable financial efficiency.
